Dear Dad and Mom,

Well, there was a week of ice and snow, but it is now over and the last two days have been 51°F. It has been so warm, I feel like a missionary with a white shirt and tie instead of an Eskimo. But it has been fun.

I really enjoy getting letters from you and Grandma and Nathen, because I love to see what they were like because I don't remember. I think is it perfect. (Ed. note: I am sending AJ the letters I received as a missionary, as well as those I sent Nathen while he was in Iowa.)

I sounds like Sabrina is not on your good list, but I would still like to hear form her. It has been three months. Wow! I can't believe I have been out that long. I am 1/8 of the way done.

I think I will go and buy shoe dye because I have been doing shoe polish and it just comes off but it is not bad so I will go buy some. The alarm clock Karren gave me takes batteries and goes through them rather fast, so I will go to a thrift store and buy another one.

When I got transferred, I got a new companion. His name was Elder Ericson. He was on his way home and was "trunky" (not working much). Now my companion is Elder Stephans, from Tennessee. He is fun and I like him a lot because we just get along so well.

Now I am without a car and we have been walking. That is not much fun. Elder Stephans is going to fix his bike soon, and that will be nice.

My egg skillet is doing well. I finally got it broken in right. I am going to start baking soon. I will take some pictures and then send my whole memory card.

I love you and miss you, but just thinking about you motivates me to work hard because I know you would, and I want to be like you Dad. (Ed. note: I didn't realize the lad was so easily misled).

Love,
Elder Hatch
