Dad and Mom,

You did what?!! You finally broke down and bought one (a recumbent bike). Why can't you have done that 5 months ago?? I want to ride it. And where are you getting all this money. Did you find oil in the back yard or something?

I have found that asking questions through the mail is way too slow plus I don't remember because by the time I get your answer I have already solved the problem. Granted, it is not the way you would have done it, but it still works. I bought a $16.99 pair of shoes from Target and they are great! Also, thanks for the address (of Jon, Andrea, and La Rena). I will write to them after I am done with this letter.

I feel bad. I have not shaved in three days in three days and I look like a bear! I am such disobedient missionary, but I am working on becoming better. Yeah!

Give me Chris' address and I will write to him, and tell him how hard it is, and how much work it is, and how many blessings come from it, and how much your testimony grows (like a weed in the Arizona sun!).

That is really sweet that Grandpa Allen baptized the person mentioned in the Priesthood lesson. I think I might have to read them.

I am in the middle of fighting a war with a cold. If you thought missionary work was hard, try doing it when you are sick. It is twice a much work. We have a baptism one week from tomorrow. I love baptisms. They rock!

My wisdom teeth are coming in. I can touch them, but they don't hurt unless I touch them, and they are not pushing on my other teeth.

I am ok. I love you and miss you.

Love,
Elder Alan Hatch II
P.S. I am doing good!

Dad and Mom,

Well, I got your other letter today so I thought I would write back. I can’t believe you took the Geo Metro into the shop and did not even try to fix it yourself. Also, as I recall, you gave me those tools because you did not want them. So they are mine and you broke my tools. Great!

Yes we have a car, so no more riding a bike, but we skip lunch and throw a Frisbee because we are both gaining weight, and so we run (well, I run—he is not the best player in the world). I am now 194 lbs and I am fat!!! So I am going to quite eating and start working out, running after a Frisbee for an hour each day.

Well, I looked in the Stake Directory and the only Fenzel family I found is Benjamin and Susan, who live at 1150 and 13 Street S.E. and they are in my ward. I did not find Lindella, so have her call me at (425) 335-4597 so we can talk, ok?

I can’t believe you wrote a page and a half about your bike. You must be really impressed.

Do you like the pictures I took? Are you posting some on grandmasweb? Is the family making commitments? You have to let me know.

Well, I am way tired, so will talk with you later. Let me know about my pictures. I love you and miss you.

Love,
Elder Alan Hatch II

P.S. Do ou have a good recipe for chicken heart? Let me know.
