Yet another transfer, this time up north. He has served all over the mission, with the exception of the islands in the ocean to the west. |
Envelope Address:
Elder Alan Hatch, II
2-29-08 About the time I was able to write home, I received word that I would be moving, so I decided to hold off until I arrived in my new area (number 11 for those of you who are counting). To my shock, my new area is Ferndale, a suburb of Bellingham. To even my greater surprise, I now reside with a member ): This is not my idea of what it is supposed to be like. We live in a 25' by 25' room. When we return home at night, the father of the household is asleep, as he arises at 3 am for work. So, WE HAVE TO BE QUIET!! That is horrible ): and no fun at all, but it is just as I thought it would be. But, oh well... My new companion's name is Elder Eaton. He is from nowhere because his father is in the Navy. He also spent three years and eight months in the Navy before being discharged. During that time he found the Gospel and was baptized and then decided to go on a mission. Well, here he is. He has read more church books than I knew existed and loves to read--something I do not appreciate as much as he does. This transfer should be a huge learning experience for me, seeing as how I have started reading "Jesus the Christ" again. Now I have both my companion (who has read that book twice) and the Spirit to help me. I am doing well I guess. I am down to 169 lbs as of this morning so we will see how long I last. I think the rain is getting to me.
Well, I am out of room so will write later.
