Dad and Mom,

Well, at least you have a really big portion of your trip done, so it won't be hard to finish, just the driving time.

I have fallen behind a little but plan to catch up today. I think I am on Chapter 43 or so. I am a little behind but I will catch up. I am learning a good amount. I wish we could study at night when I am more awake, but I will get better, I promise.

In your last letter you said, "Barbara's latest trip to the doctor," and stopped. So, do you want to fill in the blanks?

Yeah, if I forget to shave it gets pretty long and, wow, I look like a Mexican, which is really weird because my skin tans really well, so I already stand out. Everybody else up here just burns, because they never see the sun. So, when I forget to shave I am afraid of being deported.

Well, I am excited for you and your garden because President Kimball said that everyone needs to have some kind of a garden or plants that produce food. I learned that in priesthood class.

We are going to baptize a UBK (un-baptized kid) on the 16th at 7:00 pm. I am way excited about that, seeing how that is my job now-a-days, to find, teach and baptize. It is a big deal.

Oh, I made 43 cinnamon rolls on Friday and they were way good. I thought I would take them around to all of our investigators. Just wait until you see the pictures. The dough is so big it was unreal, and it took a whole block of cream cheese. Well, I hope you have a good week.
Love, Elder Alan Hatch II

Post script: Mom, how was your trip? Did you have a good time? How is Lindsey doing? Did she get the birthday card I sent?
