Mom and Dad,
Wow, I was thinking you got lost with Dave or something. I did not hear from you in about a month (I have the letters [dates] to prove it). But that's ok. I know you are busy.
Well, two letters ago you said a ton of stuff so I got lost in all the info. So I did not know what you wrote or what you quoted. So, just to be safe I asked a specific question, "Are they bad?" and in your response I got a clear answer. I thank you for your answer.
The five-hour meeting was postponed due to the retiring of James E. Foust. It never happened, but still could.
It sounds like my siblings are too picky. You go camping for fun. I know you enjoy cooking and so do I, but I would serve chili or soup. I would be just as happy because they are just as good when you are hungry. I have found that out by doing both. Lasagna will be good, I am sure. I guess I am jealous, and well, I want homemade lasagna. All I get out here is store bough garbage, but I smile and say it is the best I have ever had, when I know I can do better. Oh well...
Transfers came and went and I got both a new companion and a new area. He is from West Jordan, Utah. I have been out longer than he but I am still junior. The mission is full of drama. I feel like I am in high school again. But, what do you expect when you put a bunch of 19 -22 year olds together. I am sure tired of it, but I think it must be a part of life so what are going to do?
I love you.
Love, Elder Alan Hatch II
