Mom and Dad,
Time is starting to run away on me. I find myself looking back on my mission. I see a lot of good times. I also see how I was a bonehead, when it came to missionary work. If I know then what I know now, how much better missionary would I be. Not to say I know it all now, but I do know more, a lot more. I have been thinking about that a lot lately, so I thought I would share.

Well Dad, it sounds like you are in over your head with this new calling of yours! I can't say I blame you. That is a ton of responsibility. But I think they picked the right man for the job. You will do your best at whatever the Lord asks you to do. I just know that seeing the pattern in your life. Now comes the hard part--following in your foot steps. But I do know that is what has to be done.

When I was at Zone Conference (8-4-08) a woman came up to me and said she served a mission in 1995 in the San Manuel Ward and said she knew my family and had eaten with us. So she told me to report our crossing paths. My commitment is now fulfilled.

You asked about the work. I have told you, all I do is knock on peoples doors. We did have a baptism of Angie Wood. She had her 9-year-old daughter join, and she like what she saw, so she joined. Other than that, I just do a ton of finding.

Other than that, I am doing well and enjoying life. Dave wrote me. Oh yeah, I got a box from the ward, so tell them thanks (please).

Elder Alan Hatch, II.

Post Script: Do you remember like four months ago I told you of my friend going home to Canada--a Dylon Kareh? Well any way, he is getting married two weeks from today. How crazy is that?

Post Post Script: I am almost out of stamps. Could you send me some?

And when I sits still, I falls asleep...
