Mom and Dad,

Well, I cannot believe football season has started. I am so excited. This past weekend, Washington played BYU. This was very big around here, so we got to see bits and pieces of it while tracting. But the end as too funny, a blocked field goal, and no sorry extra point. Wow! Too funny! Then on Monday the Packers took on the Vikings and beat them. Good days for me! It was a good game. At least that is what one of my recent converts told me. I can't believe I will be home for the next Super Bowl. That blows my mind. Well, enough about sports.

It sound like you all had fun over this past weekend [a reference to the Labor Day campout near the Lava Tubes -- ed.]. I wish I could have been there, but I was a little busy over the course of that weekend. My companion and I put one of our investigators on date for baptism, so I was a little busy. Sorry. His name is Charlie Bean. He is 9 and really excited about following Jesus Christ. His parents are from the south and a real hoot to talk to. The funny part about this is that one of my former companions baptized the parents. We talk about that. It is an all around good time.

Other than that, I can't believe I am sending the man I lived with for three months home. That is something that is hard to live with. He is truly one of my good friends. His name is Elder Summerfield. But, it is all good.

I have thought about it a lot, and I came to the conclusion that I will do any thing you ask of me. I am more than willing to help you in anyway I can. Take care.

Love, Elder Alan Hatch, II

What a handsome young man!
