I'm a little slow in getting this up, but because the architecture is already in place I will finish this one and save the other Christmas photos for the next posting. The Ramsays and Herrings came by for a visit around the weekend of December 20, and Barbara (as always) went out of her way to enjoyed the kids. |
I'm not sure what brought Ameilia, et. al., but their visits are always welcome. Perhaps they were seeking a bit of the elusive Eagar summer... I didn't get any images, but while they were her, Abbie managed to become acquainted with one of our local scorpions. She wasn't too impressed. The scorpion, on the other hand, ended up being quite depressed, to the point of being almost unrecognizable. |
While Sabrina was here, we celebrated Bree's birthday. It took the guest of honor a bit to grasp the concept that she was supposed to actually open her present, but she finally got it. Cub was more excited about the proceedings than was Bree, but in due time she will learn. Is this a poster child for wide eyed innocence, or what? |
Cub was as exuberant as ever. It is my impression that some children enjoy life more than some adults. It is not obvious why that should be so, but empirically, it seems to be. Maybe they remember something that we have forgotten? |
Recently, the doctors whom Barbara patronizes changed her medications, and she has yet to adjust. The result is that this is currently a common sight at our house. Hopefully, she will return to normal shortly. |
These same doctors are suggesting that Barbara undergo one or more surgeries in the not too distant future. The date(s) are rather nebulous, to the point that the actual event(s) seem to be on again/off again, but I suspect at least one will happen before the onset of summer. Doesn't looking forward to something like that sound fun? |
These visits brought gifts from several family members, and Cub was happy to help me open this one. It is a kite in the shape of a bird, but we didn't get to try it in the short time they were here. By the time I did get to suspend it in the air a few days later, I had lost a couple of fiberglass support poles, such that we were unsuccessful. Hopefully, I can improvise some replacements in the near future. |
Sabrina seems to be doing will with her third gravitidy. We had a good visit. That was nice, since I have difficulty communicating with her via any other media. |
Barbara complains a fair amount about her lack of "grand baby time," and she, as usual, especially enjoyed this visit. |
Barbara wanted some shelving in the closet located in the small bed room in the "new" addition, so after some fussing, and more than a little money (Would you believe the supports for this shelving cost over $60? [granted, I purchased a couple that we didn't end up using]) we now have a slightly expanded storage space. I managed to poke a hole in the sheet rock on the other end of the lower shelf in the process--a feat that made me just a tad upset. |
Barbara has introduced some more animals into our over crowded abode, much to my chagrin. We now have three of these, one of their close cousins, and an uncountable number of tiny, almost transparent, minnows inhabiting our front room. Now, if I could just find a place to sit... |
