I have encountered many book, videos, lectures, and other media that endeavor to instruct adolescent humans on how to prepare for life events that are imminent. I have encountered less, but still significant, instruction on dealing with mid-life matters. What I have not seen is strategy directed at the end game of life. I find this a bit odd, but given my propensity for experimentation, I probably wouldn't listen to it anyway.

Recently Barbara and I visited an attorney, (who had some definitely bizarre ideas about the way the universe works) and had wills drawn up. To me this excursion was little more than an expensive exercise in futility, but sometimes martial harmony requires irrational behavior, and peace on the home front is undoubtedly cheap at twice the price. The bottom line is that I plan to "exit stage right" before she does and my will specifies that everything I have belongs her upon my demise. Having said that, it is my desire to divest myself of many of my toys prior to emigrating.

To that end, I have created the instrument below which, hopefully, will facilitate that process. Included are a few toys and an indication of when they will become available. I would like you to peruse this list and inform me of things you or your offspring might like. If multiple people want the same item, I will leave it to them to work it out. If they cannot reach an amicable solution, I will make the decision (I'm thinking of a number between one and fifty...). Obviously the items below are only a small fraction of the bounty stored on this place. Looking at them should jog your memory about other treasures you might want, so I anticipate multiple requests outside of this list. I also suspect I will post more lists like this in the future.

I have read that distributing a deceased parents prized possessions among their children often creates feelings of animosity, sometimes extreme enough to result in siblings becoming estranged (...but MOM wanted ME to have that trinket...). That didn't happen when my parents departed, and it is my profoundest hope that it doesn't happen to you. This is just "stuff" and from the vantage point of twenty thousand years in the future, it will have absolutely no significance of any kind.
