I'm slow enough posting images of the campout that by now it is old news, but here it is anyway.
There were quite a few more games brought to the campout this year than in some of the years past.
Sabrina and Braxton were responsible for many of them. Some, like their lawn checkers, were quite creative.
I am at a point in my progression (some might argue "regression") where games hold little allure for me, but others seemed enthralled (and that is a good thing).
I continue to be surprised (and impressed) with how the cousins interact with each other. I don't recall similar experiences from my youth, although I had at least twice (and probably thrice) as many cousins as this current crop of youngsters.
The Mt. Graham site is a nice area to camp in, but the road (and I use that term loosely) to it leaves a bit to be desired. Jared and KD managed to ding up their Pris on the first few hundred yards after leaving the pavement. I feel badly about that I and missed those who didn't make it. Finding a suitable site camping site is becoming a somewhat divisive issue.

Jumping rope with a kid in your arms has to be a bit of a challenge.
As is expected, we ate well. There was not quite as much excess food as usual, so maybe we are starting to figure out portion size. Or maybe this year was just a fluke.
Some of the kids in attendance exhibited signs of jocularity.
Others, not so much.
Lounging was a major sport there and one that I gladly indulged in.
Dave and BettyAnn Elliot, just back from a 23 month mission in the Philippines, had many tales to relate. It was fun to listen to them and realize cultures vary around the world.
Some of the families chose to bring matching shirts that told a story when viewed in the correct order. My other images of this phenomenon were unacceptably fuzzy, then my batteries died.
More cousins images.
Yet more cousins images.
It was pleasant talking to Dave again. His mission service was constraining in some ways, such that this year he didn't stop and run the Thunder River trail on the way to the campout...

When a person learns to fix things, it sometimes becomes a lifetime avocation.

Neatest hair in camp but doesn't quite match the t-shirt
Camp hair
Don't care!

Sabrina matched me up with her families checker champion. By some stroke of luck, I prevailed. That may have been the first time I won a game of checkers.
The youngest camper was very popular. I suspect she was held almost constantly during her waking hours.
Two hipsters trying to act cool!
Where in the world have I seen this before...?
This t-shirt was made for me. In case you find it illegible, it says,
"There are two kinds of people in this world,
Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data"
It was handed to me at a time my short attention span was focused elsewhere, but I think it came from AJ (or more precisely, it was AJ's idea, hand crafted by Brittney). Thank you to AJ's clan or to whomever else thanks is due.

This photo appeared (as if by magic) on my desktop (the wooden one, not the electronic imposter). I wonder who could have put it there, and what they are trying to communicate...
