Halloween was a grand time at my house. A friend and myself decided that we would make dresses from the civil war time area and that would be our costum. After finding the pattern for only 99 cents we went about buying the 9 yards of fabric it would take to make my dress and the three yards for Lauren's. After lots of adjusting and many stitches that needed to be removed this is what we came up with. |
Lauren was always willing to take her cloths off but not as impressed to be trying on this dress yet again. |
THe pattern had no actual piece for the skirt but 27 pieces made up the top it was almost not worth all the effort. Lauren's however was much easier although the pattern was to big and after cutting the skirt in half so that she could wear it with out tripping hers was much easier then mine by far. |
Halloween was kind of a bust for me, I put all the effort into making almost three dresses (Lauren's, my frien's, and mine) only to be short changed on the activitie I chose. We went to the churches trunk-O-treat which was out side in the cold and the wind. It only lasted about 15 minutes from start to finish. And my friend was to sick to come or even wear her dress. Then Halloween day I ended up babysitting in the morning with the plan of meeting up with some ladies from church to go to the mall. Well we went to the mall late the person I picked up was not home when I got to her house, then we spent almost an hour looking for her wedding ring only not to find it. So once we got the the mall the lady that i took with me her child had a melt down and we left early. Now I do not care that Lauren did not get loads of candy but I do feel as if i put more effort into Halloween then I got out if it. So lesson learned is that next year either pick more reliable friends or just do things as a family. |
Due to the crummy lighting in our house I did not get one good picture of me in the dress so I am adding this one to show what my top looked like. |
I did get creative and hippyish in making curler for Lauren's and my hair. Sabrina will be impressed I know. I took tolite paper rolls cut them into 3rds and rolled them into small tubes. After a little bit of tape to hold it together I had the perfect size curler small ringletts. I was also surprised that I put 43 rollers in my hair and 5 in Lauren's and had plenty of hair clip to hold them all into place with more left over...... perhaps I have to many hair clips. |
In other news Lauren is very much a girl as I have mentioned in previous letters, she loves to wear shoes well she has become independant and will put the shoe on herself. One of the down sides is that she always pickes the shoe that is too small and as a result her toe nail is coming off at the back end. So needless to say that once her shoes don't fit they are now promply hidden. |
As time passes I continue to get bigger and bigger. Once again I apoligise for the quality of the picture it is not always the easiest to get the camera in the right spot Lauren in the right spot and everyone looking and smiling at the camera at just the precise time when the 10 second timer goes off. |
Wrong! Taking the picture in the mirro is not much better. |
Every now and then I get lucky and catch Lauren in the right spot and smiling. |
I have also been trying mehand at making cloths for Lauren. This material was given to me and the pattern is from the 50's. Both of wich would not have made for a bad combo however I assembled part of the shirt according to a different pattern by accident and as a result the shirt did not turn out as planned. It is not bad however I have been told that if she had rainbow sock she would pass for Rainbow bright. |
I also made another diaper bag. The last one was a good start but needed another trip back the the drawing board. So this one is a backpack style with the changing pad still on the out side one I added bigger pockets so that Lauren's diapers and wips can be on the out side freeing up more room on the inside for snacks and toys. The down side is that it is not as easy to get in and out of but over all I like it better then the first. |
Zeke is doing well and is still a straight A student and I'm very proud and grateful for the time and effort he puts into keeping straight A's. My due date is still the 28 of Dec 09 so we will see what happens. Hope this letter finds you all doing well. I also was able to have a 3D ultra sound and as I'm not a fan was not that impressed however after looking at if for some time I can appreciate the ability to see some of the features of the baby. The nose does appear bigger then it will be due to the way the picture is taken. The second set of ultra sounds are older because I was not able to scan them as my printer was not working. Thanks to kodak and some patients on my part it only took Kodak sending my three printers before I got one that seems to be working. The last ultra sound is the most recient. On a side note Nathen you are welcome for being so quick about posting a letter after getting your polite request. As for the rest of you he made the same inquary HA HA I got her first! Love ya, Zeke, Mylinda, Lauren and the boy. |
