Dear Friends and Family,

It's been some time since I wrote any kind of a newsworthy newsletter. I thought that I should try to do this before the end of the year. This Fall has been very mild one and I thought it important to take advantage of this and take some photos.

I started with Lauren, as She was up, and Carson was sleeping. I had purchased some hay from a guy in Craig's list for $1 a bale for our Ward Halloween Party, and a friend wanted to can pumpkin, so I had all the props needed.

Lauren was not really all that interested in being the center of the photo and as such did not go to any lengths to "smile" for me. But, since She's a happy natured child, I did get some cute ones of her.

I am some what of a frugal person, and being so, helps me to step out of my box. There is a pumpkin on Lauren's left that I acquired in a way that merits telling. Three years ago, Zeke and I happened to drive past a church the day after Halloween. They were giving away free pumpkins. We, meaning me, happily took home about 45lbs. of them. I canned them in every form, from puree to jam. I did find out afterwards that you can't can puree pumpkin in anything larger than a small jam jar if you want to keep it from exploding.

Every year since then, I have made it a point to drive around looking for the elusive free pumpkin, with no luck. So, this year when I happened to drive past a church selling pumpkins, I mentally took note of it. I was then going to make sure I went by the day after Halloween. When I did, I found that they were not giving them away for free. Instead, they were going to use them in a pumpkin smashing contest! I know, what a waste of good pumpkin! So I thought, if I was persistent enough, it might pay off and it did. I waited long enough, and the head person came along. I mentioned that it was a sad waste of some good pumpkin to can. He was nice enough to let me take one home. Lauren picked out the pumpkin you see on the top of the pile that's no bigger then her hand, but I went and found the big one, and can not wait to can it. From previous experience, I found that pumpkin tastes sweet. Not too bad!

Next, was Carson's turn, and since He's just a happy baby, He was so easy to take photos of. I love this stage of a babies' life.

He is a full fledged crawler, dabbling in the realm of assisted walking. He is so animated, that every thought is clearly seen on his face.

At the end of all the photos, the littlest pumpkin was all gnawed on, from letting Carson play with it.

One look at the photos, I found it was totally worth it.

Next, We tried some of Carson and I. Lauren was inside crying, because She didn't want to wear the shoes that I insisted on for Her put on to come outside.

Anyone that has one, or been around a, two-year-old girl can relate. If you want them to do anything there's a process that must be followed. First you ask, and then there is usually some, "No's", "I don't want to", "It's not fair", and some "Don't touch me's" involved.

It almost always end with tears, and Mom's victorious!

I wanted Lauren to wear brown shoes...

But in this round of photos, Lauren won, as you can see.

I am a big fan of side profile photos, because the slope of their noses are totally my trait.

For our family photos, I won. Lauren worn the brown shoes.

Zeke has an eye for photos. He did the set-up of our Family. I really liked how it turned out.

For Halloween, our Family was Goldielocks and the three bears. Lauren was totally into the wig when I was making, however the day of the event she would only wear it for the photos and then she would not let me fidget with it. So this is the only photo we got.

Since getting a dog house for Duke I have found that Lauren likes it much more then Duke does.

I thought that it was only a Lauren thing, after going to Nathen's house I found that it is a kid thing.

We went down to Nathen's house for Thanksgiving and We had a blast! Lauren and Rachel got along so well and just played almost non-stop. It was a good thing that Terra had plenty of storage bucket to sit in.

Everyone was making their own pies, which turned out to be really lots of fun. Kyle did cherry-cheese cake, Ethen's was blueberry pie, and Terra did a phenomenal pecan pie!

The little girl's were so good, and held up their pies for the photo.

Then after the photo they had sample the pie.

Nathen and the boys carved the turkey. Yum!

The girls ate ice while waiting for food.

Everyone eating dinner.

Dad had shared different photos taken by grandchildren, This photo was taken by Nathen. It raises the question of who is a better photographer?

Carson and Landon are so cute and fun together. It's so nice to have kiddos the same age.

After dinner it was nap time.

Then time to eat PIE!

Then We went out and ran amuck!

Lauren and Rachel have matching PJ's super cute!

Carson and Landon hung out on the counter waiting to go to bed.

Lauren and Rachel tried to sleep together.................it did not work out but they tried.

The day after, Nathen took Zeke home, and We stayed with Terra. Of course We watched Christmas movies.

Then naps again.

Showing off our nails.

Before We headed home, Lauren took a ride on one of the boats that Ethen and Kyle made. It was probably a good thing they did not see her, but I captured it.

Once We got home, I tried my hand at cake pops.

Lauren helped decorate them.

End product.

Carson is calling, Hope all is well with you and your family." "Can't wait to see everyone at Christmas."

Love ya!,
The Ellis Family.
