Hello to everyone. I really enjoy the news letters that everyone is sending it is really nice to be so far from home and still be able to feel as if I'm just down the street. Life in Germany is going well, and I don't have much to complain about. Partly because I don't have any one here to listen but mostly because I'm really blessed. Zeke, as most of you know is at Fort Eustis, Virginia. He has been there for 66 days now and will not be coming home for another 36 days. We have made it 2/3rds of the way, and I'm so happy for that. He is doing well and exceeding in the course that he is taking. He is at what is called BNOC (basic non-commissioned officer course.) This training will allow him to be promoted to Staff Sergeant (SSG). I am really proud of him. While the course is long and tedious he is sailing through it with flying colors. They are required to have their room neat and tidy. This consists of measuring how far apart his cloths are in his wall locker and making sure that there are only X amount of electrical items in view in his room. There are so many rules that he has to follow. He isn't allow to talk on a cell phone while walking across a parking lot and not allow to talk with certain people. With all that he is handling being over there very well. I am really grateful to have him as a husband. I love him dearly and miss him terribly. |
As for me I'm doing well. I'm still primary Pres. and enjoying it! These are some of the kids in my primary. It seem that each week I have a different group of kids, but they all have sweet spirits and I'm learning a lot. The primary is made up of mostly Jr primary which makes things fun and exciting. Just when I don't think that they are listing or that I'm getting through to them the most rambunctious kid will answer every question perfectly and I will sit there in amazement. I have the two best counselors and with their help we are making this a really good primary. One of them is a first grade teacher, and the other one teaches Pre-school. No that wasn't on purpose but I guess God knew that I had no experience with kids so he was gave me all the help I would need. They have such great ideas on how to keep kids attention. All I do is put them to action. |
Work is also going well. I'm doing mostly but operatives. In English lots of filling of the teeth. On occasion I'm also doing Pros (crowns and bridges) and some times OS (oral surgery extraction of teeth). I hope to soon be working with our new Pedo (child dentist) or our new pros (bridges, crowns, dentures) dentist. The Dentist I work with will leave in May and in June we are to get the two new dentists. I'm not sure which one I will work with but time will tell. I don't really care as I haven't done much experience with either so it doesn't matter to me. Both will be a new experience and tons of fun. The other day our X-ray machine went down and I was given the opportunity to process the X-ray film by hand. Now if you have never done that you should try it, GOOD TIME. Now I know why Dad would process his own pictures. |
So this last weekend was conference and I opted to stay at home and listen to it on the internet. I usually go to the state center but decided that I would stay home. I have never done that before and really enjoyed the experience. In other news I have taken up running as a stress reliever. I started running down the the river by our house which is about a three mile run. Then I thought better of running out there alone so have taken going to the gym until Zeke comes home. Now Jamie ( the neighbor) and I go on walks down to the river since the weather is so nice. I'm really glad as I don't like being inside all the time. When I was younger I used to wonder why Dad would count down days until spring. Now that I'm older I know why. How nice it is to get up and get ready for work when the sun is shinning. I really don't like getting up in the dark and go to work and come home in the dark. I'm missing all the AZ sun, although I do enjoy all the green trees and grass here in Hanau. |
Now that the weather is nice all the Germans are planting flowers in their gardens. I will hand it to them, most of them don't have to much in the way of yards. But if they have three or four feet in front of the house they will plant a flower garden. I really like them. I am serious when I say about three or four feet. A lot of the houses only have that much room before you hit the side walk. I do enjoy living here thought there is so much to see and to do. More bike trails than roads and I have enjoyed the new experience of other cultures |
Just so you all know I was on E-bay the other day and they have so many movies that are made about LDS. I bought Pride and Prejudice that is just like the original movie but it is set at BYU. I can't wait to watch it. There are also stand up comedians that are LDS. I'm sure that most of you have seen these things or at least heard of them but I was impressed when I found them. I will let you all know how the movie is. Hope that this letter find you all well. We love and miss you guys. Can't wait to hear from you soon so be sure to keep the news letter up and running. Love, Zeke and Mylinda Ellis |
