Hello to all,

It has been some time since I last wrote and there are many things to catch you up on. Carson has well passed the age (according to old regulations as they have since changed) where he is to be turned forward facing in a car. I waited for many reasons mostly because was so convenient to have him in a carrier rather than a seat while shopping and running errands.

So forward facing he went and as a result Lauren got a new seat which I let her pick out her self with my guidance of course. I think that both are very satisfied with the new situation.

I have once again reinstated Yoga as a daily practice and Lauren is very happy to join in. Since this picture I have started working with some ladies at church and we have started a work out group that meets usually 6 times a week yes I know they are crazy. It makes a big difference for me however to work alone vs. working with some one else. I find that other people make me push myself harder then I would. So far I'm enjoying it.

Carson is starting to speak and one of his favorite words currently is bubble which is used for many nouns such as: bubbles, balloons, but my favorite is Dad. Zeke is less impressed but it is a phase and will pass.

For Lauren's birthday I wanted to do a "home made" party so I went to work making her a kitchen-et our of the scrap door frames we had from putting in new doors.

I sat down and drew out all the dimensions and decided how much of what I would need. And naturally when I went to assemble I re-did almost every measurement because they just did not quite fit together properly.

Zeke was there of course to assist, but he was really sweet and did not help even when I asked him to. I went to Habitat for Humanity and purchased a $3.00 bathroom faucet, 4 hinges .25 cent each, 2 door knobs .50 cent each, a plastic tupper wear container (for my sink) $1.00, and one 12X12 tile for .50 cents making the grand total after taxes just at $7.00. I used Zeke's nails and screws that were left over from the house and I also added hook screws for hanging thins under the top shelf.

All in all I think the kitchen-et turned out well. I had to nail everything in place as I did not want to have the kiddos removing shelves, but also because it did not want to fit unless it was encouraged to sit there. No one brought anything home-made to the party as I had hoped but all in all it was good.

On Lauren's actual birthday we opened presents before Dad went to work.

Had Chocolate cake after dinner.

Then on the following Saturday had her party with a Mermaid cake and friends.

The cake turned out to taste yummy but I'm not much of an artist so the appearance left some thing to be desired. No to bad though... I did not think anyway.

Lauren LOVED it she still thinks that birthdays are all about the cake. And sings the birthday song as follows:

Happy birthday cake,
happy birthday cake,
happy birthday cake to mommy,
happy birthday cake.

It is fun to watch.

Next came Easter and I found these giant plastic eggs. Of course with 50% off they were still 10 dollars for three plastic eggs. I could not bring myself to pay such a price for such a Cheap thing. So I went and found on that one of the eggs were cracked, and after talking with two managers I was informed that they would not lower the price. I do however have a friend that was happy to pay for such a novelty. After carefully selection of one that was not only crack free but was also scratch free she carefully purchased and brought it to my house for Easter pictures, only to discover that the outter egg was intact but the inner eggs were cracked and scratched... so much for careful planning. We used them for pictures anyway.

Mom's love (generally speaking) to have their kids photo taken and there are many Mom's here that do it religiously. I have taken to just doing photo session in the back yard. It is not only cost efficient but so much less stressful.

Granted they do not always come out the way you hoped but if you take enough pictures at least one will be a good one.

On Easter we went to a friend's house and had dinner. I was sorry I did not take more photos of the Kids all dressed up but next time I will.

Carson did not even wait for the photo to take off his tie and coat.

Out of the two kids Carson is more animated but only barely so. I caught him on the couch eating raisins and when I asked him to go into the kitchen he proceed to shove them all into his mouth.

Both are true to the kid nature and are as silly as they come.

Lauren has found that she can make people laugh but doing silly things and expresses that often. Anything that has a bowl form she will wear on her head. Unless of course we are out in the sun and I want her to put on her Hat.
Perhaps I should try asking her to wear a pot instead.

Lauren has also made her own version of "Twinkle, Twinkle little Star" it goes like this:

Tinkle, tinkle 'ittle tar
how ya doing, what you are
up above the wold so
I like a dimond like a sky,
tinkle tinkle 'ittle tar,
how ya doing, what ya are.

I won't lie as a mom I think it is the greatest. She also sings it as loud as she can most of the time. Super cute to hear and watch.

My Birthday also came and I turned the big 3 0. Two of the ladies I hang out with also had birthday with in a week of mine so I thought I would do one big party.

I invited about 8 families to meet at a local Nature Area and we went on about an hour and half hike then came back to my house where we had home made tortillas, green chili, and breakfast burritos. They were so good! Then one of my friends made cake and cupcake for the kiddos. They turned out super cute too.

Not everyone came so we had tons of food but it was defiantly a party I will remember for a long time.

Lauren was kind enough to help up blow out the candles it was funny.

While we were celebrating I ask all the kids to stand against the wall for a photo and Carson try joining in by standing against a wall however it was in a different room from us. I took his picture anyway. I have more to talk about but it will have to wait for another news letter. Until next time Hope this finds you all doing well.

Love ya,

Zeke, Mylinda, Lauren and Carson Ellis
