Good morning/day/night, What ever it happens to be. There has been so much going on here that I was waiting until it got settled down before I wrote you all about it. So I will just get started as there is lots to tell.

April 21 11:00pm: I went in to the kitchen and heard water dripping but didn't know where it was coming from. I soon discovered that it was dripping from the Kitchen light. Now being the bright and perceptive daughter that I am, I call the emergency number to have Boss (base offices service section) to let them know as it was a concern of mine. Well the man on the phone told me that it wasn't an emergency and that I was to call back in the morning. I turned everything off and went to bed. I woke up and called work said I wouldn't be in and was on the phone with boss when I walked in to the kitchen to find water was now leaking from two light outlets and all four wall outlets in the kitchen as well as from the back of the cabinets. I told them the problem and they said that they would send some one out right away.
Three hours later some one came and knocked on the door. He looked and said that it was the upstairs neighbor and he would go up and look. Twenty minutes later he came back to my house and said that the upstairs neighbors's dish washer had leaked and he had fixed the problem and he would send some one else out to the house to look at it. The next man came to the house and he told me that same thing it was the upstairs neighbors some thing and he would go and fix it. I told him the story and he looked around the kitchen and said that there was nothing he could do. He would send some one else out to the house. After five guys coming to the house with all the same reply and having to tell them that the leak was a dishwasher and yes it had already been fixed II called boss and told them that they needed to send some one out who could help me.
Finally a guy came and turned off the power to my kitchen the lights in bathroom and living room. He left. My fridge wasn't working at this point. Some other guy came with in ten minutes and moved the fridge into the door way from kitchen to living room. I was told that I wouldn't be able to use the kitchen and that I would just have to wait until it stopped dripping.
Friday 07:30 am knock at the door and it was a man wanting to just have a look at the house. He looked and told me I would have to wait for it to stop dripping and it would probably take three days. I think about four guys came that day and all said that same thing. 4:30 PM Friday a man came to the house and put a de-humidifier in the kitchen and said that I would have to leave the windows and door to the kitchen closed. He would come back on Monday to have a look at it. It made the kitchen really Hot!
Monday morning came and no one came to the house until about 11:00am they walked around and say "(with a thick german accent) Yep still wet! we be back tomorrow" The roof stopped dripping on Saturday but still no power in the kitchen lights in bathroom and living room. I moved the microwave into the living room and left fridge where it was. Tuesday morning guy come to the house Yep still wet and tell me it will take about a week to dry, when it dries the ceiling and cabinets will then need to be replaces along with lights and all outlets.
Wednesday the came and started to peel off some of the paint from the roof and decided that it was still wet. Thursday they came back and told me that it was dry and they were going to take the de-humidifier. YEAH!! But that they couldn't turn on the power as some one else would come to the house and do that. So an older guy came and replaces that lights and outlets.
I was really happy I had power again and I could eat what ever I wanted to cook. Friday 5:00pm all the power goes out in the house. I call boss a very disappointed lady answer the phone she wanted to go home and my call meant that she would have to stay a little longer. She tired to convince me that power wasn't that important and that I could call back on Monday. I politely told her no I wouldn't call back on Monday as some one would have to come today as I need power in the house. I went with out half the power for a little over a week I wasn't going to go any longer. So she sent some one out. It was an older guy who didn't speak very good english. He fiddled with some thing out side and low in behold I had lights again!! :) He said that some one would be in on Tuesday to paint the kitchen.
Now when you walk in to the kitchen all you smell is mold. It is some thing like I picture a swamp to smell like. I have been lucky enough to have nice enough weather to leave the window open. So Monday I went to work the first time in one and half weeks. Monday night I shut all the window so that when the painter came they would smell how bad it was and fix it. Got up this morning and waited and waited and no one came to the house so I called boss. She tells me that they will be out in the morning tomorrow to paint. I told her that I work and I took the day off so they could come and no one comes? I want a reason why? She say she will talk with her co-worker..........gets back on the line and says ok Mrs. Ellis they will come first thing in the morning have a great day. I tell her no I want to know why they didn't come out the house.............she can't give me an answer so I just leave it as it. I'm getting paid to be at home what do I care if they come. I wouldn't but as Zeke isn't home I get to stay home with pay to take care of the house.
So now it is monday night and I will tell you know how it goes. The kitchen still smells like mold.
Zeke comes home on Thursday the 5th of May and I"m so excited. I can't wait to see him. I miss him a lot. He went to Washington DC a couple of weekends ago. He also went up to Bush gardens. He took picture but you will have to wait for the rest as they are on Zeke's computer.
This is a funny picture of Zeke in his army issued glasses. It made me laugh and thought you would enjoy the giggle. This is what I look like from Zeke's end. This has been our main form of communication for the last three months. It has been so nice to be able to talk with him on such a regular basis. We are very lucky to have so many chances to talk twenty years ago it wasn't like this.
Tune in next time for the second part of "The smelly things growing in the Ellis' kitchen" Hope this finds you all well have a great and dry week.
Love you, Zeke and Mylinda Ellis
