Well, I started to paint Lauren's room some weeks ago and discovered that the color I chose was not the same on the wall as it was in the can.

So I painted two walls than decided to give up as the color of yellow was bright enough to burn ones retina upon glance in that direction.
How ever the frugal side of me won out and as I'm too cheap to buy more paint when I have a can of perfectly good paint, so I started to think of ways to "fix" the problem.
I thought of putting a wash coat over the top or perhaps painting yellow on only two walls. Alas nothing seemed to be "a good fix." So I decided that it would need to put some thing on the wall to cover some of the yellow so it was not overwhelming. I thought of putting big White Square on the wall and then filling them with some kind of a shelving unit. Again nothing seems to fit. Finally I decided to do two white boarders one at the top of the wall being 4 inches and one in the middle being 8 inches wide.

So I painted and painted for what seemed to be days as I would go in there in the morning and come out when Zeke got home and there was still more to be painted. I have thus painted two to three coats of yellow on four walls, as many coats of the white, and have painted the trim. Now I thought that I was done only to walk away long enough to realize that the closet and desk area still needs attention. Oh well, it will have to wait.

The walls were not as blinding as I once thought with the white boarders and then I put up curtains and Tada presto the room looks pretty cute!

Lauren is very cautious if nothing else, and does not like to climb into or down from anything that she does not deem worthy and safe. So I was surprised to find her sitting in her toy bin. But as most Mom's will tell you it was too cute not to take a picture of!

Since learning that we are expecting again and by the way we have having a BOY (YEAH!) I have come to the realization that I will need a new bag in which to carry the new things that I will be lugging around. I have spent some time looking for the "right" diaper bag with not much success. So again back to my frugalness thought I would make one, I do have enough fabric to do such a task. (nothing compared with Barbara's but enough to hold my own) So I sat down and came up with all the things it needed to have.

Lauren decided to sit in the bag half way in the making.

The bag needed big enough pockets in order to fit a sippy cup in them once there were a number of things in the bag. A divider so that my wipes and wallet do not fall to the bottom of the bag and become hard to locate easily.

There needed to be a changing pad on the out side of the bag, because as anyone who has used one knows that it is hard to try to shove the stupid thing back into the pocket that it came out of especially when you are holding a child. Also it is like trying to replace a shower curtain back into it original packaging. (For those of you who don't know what I am talking about try it some time and you will see how much fun it really is!) I also add a pocket for the diapers so that was they would not take up room on the inside of bag. I did use a clear shower curtain as water proof material on the changing pad, yes I thought it was a pretty inventive idea if I do say so myself.

The person in the family who is usually behind the camera is the one that is never in any pictures. So I have been trying different methods to take Lauren's and my picture when it is just us at home. This one came out pretty good I think.

Lastly there is a town in OK that is named Porter. (On a side note Nathen there is a town in Oklahoma named Pottawatomie. It sounds just as it is spelled) In Porter Ok there is a peach festival every year. So I packed up Lauren and headed down there with one of the ladies from church. I bought ½ bushel of peaches for canning and was sad that I had to buy them but my peach trees are not big enough to produce much. It was a good time but not many picture were taken. This one is of Lauren and I out side of the main gazebo where there was a wagon and it looked like a good photo opportunity. Note photo was not taken by me.

I was able to can 10 quarts of peaches. Thank you Mia for your insight into canning peaches. I also learned that if you take a peach and put it in the freezer whole with peel on then remove once frozen and run it under hot water the peel with come right off. This picture is not as great as some that Mia has produce but I thought it was good. I also took squash and boiled it until it was no longer crunchy then pureed and canned. I do not like squash in most forms but this puree form can be added to a many number of things such as casseroles, meat loaf and spaghetti with out much difference in taste.

I am one of the blessed people who have a big pressure cooker and comes in very handy when canning.

Zeke went to go to work the other morning and these two were crossing the yard. Cute huh? There was also a wood chuck that came into the yard and I have not seen one until this event and WOW they are bigger then I thought. It was about two feet long however he did not stay long enough to get a good picture.

This is my newest cartridge for the circuit. (Which is a machine that cuts out different shapes depending on the cartridge that is in the machine. It cuts out paper and vinyl and some fabric.) I intend to make ladybug people to fill in the boarder on Lauren's walls.

Zeke's mother bought Lauren a plastic picnic set and drags them all over the house so that she can sit and read or just sit. She is also in the habit of placing stuffed animals in the chairs that are empty.

Lauren takes after me and is fascinated with brushing her teeth. Oh course I LOVE IT!.

Hope this finds you all doing well. Love, Zeke, Mylinda, Lauren, and the soon to be newest addition.
