Hello to all once again, I know you may have not expected to hear from me so soon but I assure that all is well and I just have much to talk about. First off I would like to clarify that although Dad blessed Lauren he did not have to write her name and that must be why he seems to spell it different in ever paragraph of his last letter. For the record her name is spelled:
L-A-U-R-E-N.

Since returning home we have entered into the potty training phase. For the record I dislike the phrase "potty training." However as I am constantly bombarded with it have finally conceded and am using it. It is said that if you potty train before the child knows that they have an opinion then it is easier, it is also been said that you MUST wait until the child is ready and shows the signs of willingness to be potty trained. However you choose to see it I think if is different for every child and thus is unique to them and their situation.

We had been working on potty training when Zeke decided that it was time to change out the toilet in the front bathroom. There were many reasons for this first off it was not efficient as after many fixes it still needed to be flushed twice due to a small crack causing the tank to not hold water for long periods of time, also the seat was odd. It had a curve in the middle that caused your feet to be raised above your bum once seated. Anyhow it was decided and Zeke purchased a new commode. Upon beginning to install he realized that he had run out of time and would have to finish the project later. Well as it turned out that I had a meeting that evening so as I begin to load up the car Lauren informed me that she had to go potty. Being independent as she is she also insisted on doing it alone, so I left her to it and continued packing the car. It was some time and I thought I should check on her, but I found her coming out to tell me very excitedly that she had gone "daddies potty."Upon further investigation she had done just that. She straddled the seat less toilet and done her business. She was so happy I did not have the heart to even try to explain that while it was good that she went she should try to make sure that the toilet is installed before using it.

When I returned home I found that there is a little baby bunny living in my garden. I was contemplating what to do with the thing when a higher force fixed the problem for me. A neighbor's cat realized that there were rabbits in my yard which it could chase so it would hang out waiting. And since then I have not seen the bunny.

There are many creatures that if given half a chance would be more then glad to move in with you. I was getting ready for bed one night when thirst became more overwhelming enough to compel me to get some water. As I walked through the house I was too tired to even turn on the lights so I did not. This always makes me uneasy as we have fish jumping out of tanks every now and then and I'm always afraid of stepping on one. I would very much like to avoid squishing one of them through my toes.

So as it was I was happy when I reached the kitchen sink with no squishes, then when I took a step forward I felt that dreaded squish. It must have been a big fish as it went in between every toe on my right foot. When I did the one foot hop back to the light switch this is what I found. The biggest slug I have ever seen. I have to tell you that this was probably the grosses thing I have ever done. I wore socks to bed for three days after because I was not convinced that I had properly removed the slime from between my toes.

It is said that kids are always in motion, after looking through photos I tend to agree I have far more in action photos then still shots.

Lauren did not want me to take her photo but I did anyway!

After she saw the picture in the camera she was a more willing participant.

For the fourth Jessica and family came to visit. We had a good time however I did not seem to take out my camera except for the fourth. I was surprised at Carsons' ability to hear the firing, and look right at were the fire work would explode. Lauren also enjoyed watching them. (In a side note Mia that is the same shirt you made for Lauren last 4th of July. I'm getting your monies out of it.)

It is thought by some that little girls like there Dad and boy love their Mom. However I think that may not always be the case. Carson sure loves it when his Dad and him get to hang out.

Well we hope that everyone had a great 4th of July.

Love ya,
Zeke, Mylinda, Lauren, Carson Ellis
