HI, how is the family doing! Zeke and I are doing well and life is just flying by. I know it has been ages since I last wrote so this letter will have to be a short catch up on all the going ones here. Before I start, I will give you a status on Zeke and I. Zeke is still in school and is top of his class and I'm as proud as ever. I'm still working as a Dental assistant over the Summer I took some classes to certify me in my profession. Then I will be going back to school in the Fall. |
We have taken up canoeing, and as such, we are dabbling in how to best go camping when there is very limited space in the canoe, not to mention how much weight one can take. Because of the weight, I can not take my dutch oven, which is sad. However, it has forced Zeke and I to try dehydrating food. Which turned out better then we thought. |
We bought a #10 can of tomato sauce and found that it could be dried out into power and then made back into tomato sauce. It's not the best tasting stuff I have ever had, but when you are hungry, it doesn't really matter. Since I'm master cook Zeke is left to do the fire bit. |
We had a great time. The most important lesson we learned is to camp close to the water. We ended up camping about 1/4 of a mile from the water. After lugging all of our things; I was pretty worn out and thus, learned not to do that again. |
After much work on my silly truck, we (meaning Zeke) have decided that we (meaning me) needed a new car. Now, I wasn't going to complain, as my truck doesn't posses A/C. A new car, with the ability to cool me, with just a touch of a button, is pretty exciting. So we set out to find a car suitable for the job. I would have liked something like a red beetle to put black poke-a-dots on; however, we (meaning us) settled on something that was both practical and realistic. |
Thus, we bought a 2005 Chevy Impala, and got it $3,000 below the Kelly blue book. I'm very happy with it, although it doesn't' say my name all over it, it does get good gas mileage and is also comfortable to ride in. |
In other news, I went and got on Implant placed in my jaw. For those of you who don't' know, it's a titatium screw that is drilled into the jaw, Once it heals, I will then have a crown cemented on top. I'm pretty excited about it, |
and the pain afterwards was very minimal. The teeth on either side were tender, but that was all the discomfort I experienced. NOT too bad at all, considering that my gums were flapped open, a pilot whole was drilled, then the implant was torque down to the recommended pounds and a healing abutment was screwed on top. The healing abutment, you will be humored to know, had a hex hole (something like an allen wrench) used to unscrew it. |
We also have been growing a garden this year. It has done so much better then last year, I think, because it rained in Tulsa for 28 days straight. The rain helped the garden although, it did kill the Zucchini plant. But, I'm not that big of a fan of them, so no loss. |
We are also growing watermelon. (Aren't they cute?) |
Our one bell pepper is also coming along quite well. I'm so proud of it. |
That is about all the I have for news here. So I will close letting you all know that I am flying to AZ on 31 Aug 2007, but will then head to Germany on my return flight. I will then fly into Tucson on 8 Aug 2007, I will not be flying back to Tulsa until the 10 Aug 2007. If you would like to see me, I will be at Sabrina's house or, you can call (918) 497-9968 to chit chat with me.
Love the Ellis family, |
