HI there, how is everyone doing? First off I LOVED all the news letters it is great to see all the kidos and how they have grown. Speaking of growing kids I was in a fabric store the other day and lady came up to Lauren and I. She had a son about 3yrs old and she asked how old Lauren was. Before I could answer the lady guessed that Lauren was 16-18months old. I laughed out loud, and told her that Lauren was almost 7 months old. Poor lady.

I am now a blogger and recommend that you all go and look at the blog. I like it because I can post videos. The address is [email protected] |
A couple of weekend ago Zeke, Lauren and I went to a bean feed. Up north of where we live there is a group of houses that seem to all have air plane hangers attached to them. In the middle of these homes is a grass run way. So once a year everyone from around flies in and they make beans in these really big barrels there is enough beans that it is stirred with boat paddles.

Any way we had a good time watching the air planes taking off and landing. There were several Piper cubs there, there were lots of other planes but as I'm not the plane expert I couldn't tell you which ones other then the piper. |
Lauren is doing well and has decided that she is more interested in walking assisted then trying to crawl. She will hold your fingers and slid off the chair and walk. At first I thought it was the cutest thing now after about a week I have changed my way of thinking.

My body was not made to hunch over and assist her in walking. She does enjoy it! She will lay on her tummy and get up into the crawling position and rock back and forth, we will see if crawling is next. We are still waiting to finalize on the house so stay tuned. Hope all is going well in your neck of the woods. |
I have tried my hand at making some out fits for Lauren. So far I think I really like how they turned out. Some aren't the best of colors but when buying fabric you have to get what you can find that is on sale.
Tell me what you think? Mylinda

To all of my friends and family, at home and abroad September, another month gone. This last month Mylinda and I spent a large portion of our time searching for a home. We started with a list of 35 or so that met our most basic criterion. We managed to winnow the list down to nine by looking at the listings and pictures. Then down to three finalists by driving to each of the nine locations. One of the three, Mylinda's favorite, has three fatal strikes against it. It is less than ¼ mile from a freeway, it appeared as though the designing architect and builder was a drunken village idiot, and it is 30 minutes from my job. Despite looking nice on the outside and having an attractive big lot in a rural location, we decided it was not for us. We selected a nice brick home in east Tulsa. When I say nice, I mean it has tremendous potential. The previous occupants were foreclosed upon and judging from the inside of the home, they were none to happy about it. The home is in need of some work but based on its previous appraisals and what we are paying, I think it would be difficult to take a loss on it. We expect to close on this home in mid October. Lauren is still cute. I think she is going to skip the crawling phase and go straight to walking. She has gotten to where she can get on her hands and knees but does not display any propensity for locomotion in that position. However if her hands are held, she will walk all over the house. I feel bad for the cat, when Lauren's mobility increases there will be nowhere for her to hide. Mylinda, Lauren and I attended Airman Acres Bean Feed on the 28th. What a show. The event takes place at a small grass airfield north of Tulsa. People fly in from all over. One of the main attractions is the food. Beans and ham are cooked in huge cast iron pots and stirred with canoe paddles. At noon, a cannon is fired of to signal that it's time to eat. It's a BYOB (bring your own bowl) affair. A multitude of different aircraft lined the field. From a World War One Fokker D VII and Steermans to Cessnas and Luscombs. It was well worth the drive. The grass runway adjoins and is perpendicular to the rural road. As we were leaving I almost received skid marks on the roof of the car from a plane that was landing. I've been working at Spartan for seven weeks. This is the first week I've had to lecture and supervise shop. I'm enjoying it but the students keep me busy. I have a really good group of 25 students this term. Hopefully they will set the trend for classes to come. My private pilot license training has been put on hold until I get the course material and lecture for my class smoothed out. I expect to return to the skies before too long but we shall see. I am somewhat disappointed that winter is closing in and I didn't manage to put many miles on the motorcycle this year. I did go up to Colorado but there were so many weekend trips that could have been. I would have liked to ride route 7 in Arkansas. Maybe next year. Well that is all from this end. I hope that this letter finds you happy, healthy and prosperous. I look forward to hearing from you. Zeke |
