Hello everyone. There isn't much to write about. However, now that I have entered into the parent phase if my life, I defiantly have lots of photos to share. See and you all thought that I would continue to be a bum. Lauren has survived to reach one month old and she is doing very well.

She now weighs 9 lbs. and 9oz, is 23 inches long and has gained in one month 2 lbs and grew 5 inches. Not too shabby! She is a joy to have. However, I see that this isn't going to go as I thought it would. I have wondered why parents spoil their children or why is it that the children have such control over the adult population. Now that I have experienced it for myself, I see how easy it is to give that perfect child the one that know the right buttons to push to melt your heart exactly what it is that they want.

I realize that Lauren is only 1 month old but already all she has to do is cry and something compels me to run to side to make sure she has what she needs. That is good and well. However, I do it even when I know that she is only crying for no other reason than to cry, and yet I go anyway. It is a habit I will soon have to break if I expect my child to be at all independent. I thought that Zeke had it bad when he chose to leave his devoted wife just after I gave birth to go with Lauren to the nursery, but now I think that we are both infected with the disease. Even when Lauren is being held by another capable caregiver I can't help but keep a watchful eye just to make sure she is happy! All that for someone who doesn't feel I should get more then 3 hours sleep at a time! We are very happy to have Lauren she is quite delightful.

In other news we still don't know where we will be going. The college in Fort Worth (where Zeke would train to become a commercial pilot) has not yet responded. As far as other offers we are still deciding. So stay tuned (as Karren would say) and see what happens. Hope this letter finds you doing well.
Love ya,
Zeke, Mylinda and Lauren Ellis
