Okay so I am a little behind my only source of comfort is that AJ and Brittney have not posted their letter about their vacation so HA I am still one up on them! Speaking of which if my memory serves me correctly (which I am not know for having a good one) AJ is to write the letter and Brittney would do photos. So chop, chop you two. It was really good to have them here visiting with family is always a good time. |
Another perk to the two of them visiting is that Brittney is amazing with little ones and Lauren just adored the extra attention. I think that she may have had the best time out of all of us. |
Not to be out done AJ did get some Lauren time as well. She has enough energy for all of us. |
One thing I have found about visiting family is that it is a lot easier to lounge around when you are at other peoples homes, I guess as you are just the visitor lounging and eating are you major rolls. On a side note if you like food Mia's is the place to go as she is always cooking something and being hungry at her house is none existent. |
We took the time and visited our local zoo here it was fun and not to hot that day. |
Lauren is quite the helper and she was as always ready to point out all the neat things to look at. I might add that she is very vocal in her pointing out of things. |
We were even able to watch the trainer playing with a seal and sea lion. And rode the zoo train. |
AJ and Brittney were nice enough to help me with finishing the boarder in Lauren's room. I took paper dolls and paper ivy that I cut out on my nifty Cricut (a paper cutting machine) and with liquid starch adhered them to the wall. |

Since AJ and Brittney's visit Zeke and I have completed Laurens room. I do have to add that Zeke was a good sport as I think that I can do a project and find that I can't ever seem to finish it with out his help. This was the case in Lauren's room. All the rooms in the house have speakers in the ceiling. I thought that I was handy enough to remove and patch the hole. So that is what I set to work doing only to discover that I was not exactly sure how to make the patch stay in the hole. So he came home to a hole to repair. We also replaced the ceiling fan in Lauren's room only to discover that the ceiling under fan was crumbling due to the rocking motion of her previous fan. Once again I was very grateful that Zeke has the skills and talents he possesses. |
Lauren was more then happy to sit and watch the proceedings from the hall way. |
And in no time at all there was a fan and a fixed ceiling that just needed a little paint. |
Now I can say that the walls and ceiling in Lauren's room are done. Things I learned since moving into this house are; 1. There is a reason that people can make a good living painting other peoples houses for them. 2. If it looks broke then there are at least three other things that need to be repaired before you can fix the first thing. 3. Carpet is not a necessity. I at one point wondered why on earth you would pay some one to paint when you could do it your self. That was about 8 coats of paint ago. I no longer wonder. My hat goes off to those who choose to do that as a living. KUDOS for them! |

Lauren as become more "helpful" since she is more mobile. This proves to have some challenges that come with it. For the most part if I am willing to direct her helpfulness it works out well as seen in the pictures however if I do not give her direction... well I end up with a bigger mess then I started with I will just say that. I am glad that she is do willing to do as I am doing. It is fun. |
I have reached a stage in the pregnancy that I was to finish tasks that were already started so I am removing all the wall paper on the hall and our bedroom. Wall paper is a funny thing the first layer comes off so easily that it fools you into thinking that to remove it completely will be simple. But alas this is not the case as the second or third layer come off one tiny piece at a time. So while the task still is not finished stay tuned and it will I'm sure at some point be done. |

Mia once made the comment about her girls came being very girly in the fact that they love purses and dressing up that kind of thing. Lauren is a total girl when it comes to shoes. In fact the first thing she wants in the morning even before being taken out of her crib is to have shoes put on. Then of course she wants to change shoes about 4-5 times during the day if allowed. She took it to a new level in requesting to have shoes while she bathed. |
The casino by my house (well one of them anyway) was recently bought out by Hard Rock so AJ and Brittney took the photo opportunity to strike a pose. |
AJ really likes kids as seen in this picture. |
Maybe? |
Lauren and Rachel even got to hang out while waiting for pizza. |
Lauren LOVES fruit. This started out life as a plum. |
And helping Dad when she can. |
After AJ and Brittney's visit we spent the next two weekends in MO helping Zeke's mom do some repairs to her house. Once again Lauren took advantage of the extra attention. (Look at the green, green grass and corn in the back ground Zeke's mom can grow anything. The trees behind the corn were stick last year and now thriving fruit trees. It is amazing!) |

Safety first! |
Always the helper! Zeke was repairing the water lines under the house. It was really muddy!

Speaking of rain we have had rain every day for the last two weeks. And thanks to Ashlee for the rain coat we made the most of it! |
Of course with the rain come critters, however I did not expect to find this crawfish crawling across my drive way. So since being in this house I have see Crawfish, turtle, woodchuck, snakes, and frogs in the front yard. Which makes me wonder what other animals come when I'm not there to see? Hope this letter finds you all doing well. And for those who do not know we are expecting a BOY and the due date is still Dec 28 '09. I will have to post picture next time. Love ya, Zeke, Mylinda, Lauren and the baby
