Ellis Update 7-19-20

Once upon a time there was a family that lived far, far away in a distance land. They lived there for many years. While this family lived in this land they had to finish quests in order to obtain passage back to the land where all their family lives. After 12 years of this they finally finished and were able to come back and live happily ever after. We are all caught up on that front, we moved back to Arizona in July 2019. It has taken me this long to get things in order so I could write a news letter. We moved to Oracle and bought a house. Zeke is working in Oro Valley.

We took some time and went out flying kites with Dad. This was Lauren's idea, it was a spur of the moment event but we had a good time. Lauren was our photographer and she did great capturing the event.

Lauren is entering the 7th grade, she likes horses, and ice cream, and lounging around the house. (per her words)

Carson is 10 years old and entering into 5th grade. He like sushi, minecraft, nerf guns, and camping. (per his words)

Alex is 6 years old and entering into 2nd grade. Alex likes Lily our dog, video games, riding his scooter, and jumping on trampoline. (per his words)

On the Fourth of July we went camping with Laura, Fred, Jim, Jessica, Matthew and his friend. Went up to Glenwood in New Mexico. There is a catwalk up there, so we explored and played in the water.

While up there we found some blackberries growing on the side of the road. While they have five thorns to every blackberry it was fun to pick them and yummy to eat them!

We went up to the top of the hillside to watch the fire works. We couldn't have planned it better. Watched the sun set, moon rise, then the fireworks. We were above the fireworks, it was really neat to watch them from that angle.

Since moving I have been battling what to do about all the gray hair I've acquired in the last five years. So I took the plunge and bleached it. The intent was to dye it silver then let nature take its course. It didn't work that way, but I don't mind the blond.

We bought our house in Oracle up by the water tower. sorry I don't have any photos of the house but this is Alex in a window seat in the kitchen.

Caught a rare sight, Carson and Alex playing the same game at the same time with out fighting! Had to take a photo to prove this happens. I will be interested to see how the dynamic change and grow as they get older.

Alex had a rough time when we moved, he couldn't get a head of his anemia. So we did blood transfusion after transfusion with not much change. Now I think we finally got a schedule of treatments to stabilize him and put him back into remission. Time will tell how ling this is for and where we go from here.

Lauren is taking piano lessons from a friend. She is doing really well, however she has hit the point where she uses two hands and goes between 32 keys. It is hard and she is not wanting to continue but I hope she does! She sounds really good when she does play.

While cutting apples Lauren discovered that she likes the peels way better when they are shaped like a noodle.

We went and hiked up Mount Baldy. IT was prefect weather and great company! Our group consisted of Mia, Abbie, Kylie, Remmington, Nathen,Terra, Eathen, Kyle, Rachael, Piper, Zeke, and I . We did approximately 15 miles in 9hours.

While on the hike we cam across wild strawberries, while they were small in size and slightly bitter but yummy all the same. There is some thing great about hiking in such great company. The views were so beautiful, it was 65 degrees and a slight breeze just perfect!

Sabrina came to stay with us, and while she was here Nathen and family came for a visit. So nice and great fun to be close enough for us to get to hose such festivities.

Our yard came with a gazebo. I was fun sitting and chatting with everyone. Thanks to Nathen and family and Sabrina and family for making it happen!

Zeke took this photo of the Big Horn fire. At one point the fire came about 2 miles away from out house but thankfully it was contained and the danger was adverted.

Another photo of the fire. It should be noted that there are rain drop on my windshield of this photo.

Monsoons have started in Oracle, again Lauren took this photo of the double rainbow.

A sunset from the dirt road by our home. I am glad to be back. There are some things that only happen here in the dessert. Hope all is well with your families, Love ya, Zeke, Mylinda, Lauren, Carson, Alex Ellis
