As you have certainly heard by now, Terra went in and had her abdomen distended (or in other words she lost about 15 pounds). As this is the third time that she has undergone this procedure including operation, I still maintain that there is an easier way to loose weight without having to go under the knife to do so. So far I have been unsuccessfully at convincing her of this.
Tuesday was the day when we decided to head down to Tucson. This decision was reached after Terre's doctor had done some blood work and deemed it perfectly satisfactory. Once we looked over the numbers (and had Karren and Dr. Hutchensen [Terra's old Tucson doctor]) look over them, we all agreed that the results were anything but satisfactory. In fact they were worse than the previous two times that Terre was hospitalized at the end of her pregnancy. So off to Tucson (for warmer weather) we went.
We arrived there around noon, and Terra went in to see her old Doctor (Dr. Hutchensen). Upon a brief office visit, Terre was once again put into St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson. She had more blood work performed and it was determined that a C-section would be in order to "fix" her condition. They decided to perform the section at 9:30 pm, due to Terra eating lunch at 1:30 pm and the anesthesiologist wanted 8 hours of digestion time prior to the operation.
At 9:57 pm the child was pulled (or rather yanked) from the abdomen of Terre, which fixed Terra's problem of pre-eclampsia and then put her back on the road to recovery. The child (a girl) weighed in at 7.754 lbs. and measured 18.25 inches in length.
After the delivery, and the sowing up process, Terre was returned to her room and enjoyed the wonderful hospital food for 3.5 days until she was finally able to be released. It may have been longer, but since Karren works at this establishment - and she was present prior to the discharge, she was able to push the right buttons and in the proper order to speed up the discharge process. I am always amazed at what you have to go thought to get out of a hospital once you have been committed.
During the stay in the hospital, Terre enjoyed the company of may people and many more phone calls. I suspect that the vast majority of the visitors didn't come to see Terra, bur rather to see Rachel. That is the name that was given her cure. Rachel Emma Hatch. It would seem that her visitors had a good time holding the little kid and doing what they do with them.
This kid, as opposed to the previous two kids, seemed to take to eating better then her two siblings. According to the infinite knowledge of Karren, it is due to the gender. I don't know enough (nor have enough experience) to argue reasonably with this fact, so I am just merely passing it on. The kid was supposed to be 35 weeks, but due to its behavior, it was most likely between 36 and 37 weeks along.
Once we were released from the establishment, we headed back up to Taylor and picked up Ethen and Kyle in the process. I tried to talk Terre into letting Ethen and Kyle stay for another week, but she didn't want to hear anything of the sort, so no luck to extent their vacation from their routine. While we were down in Tucson, we were able to enjoy 75-80 degree days from the wonder hospital room. The first day we were back in Taylor, it snowed (yippee). I am so sick of the snow it is not even funny. I am almost finished with the bunk beds that I have been building and if I had that kind of weather (Tucson weather) for just one day that I was home, I would have them incredibly near completion.
I took off 4-days from work, and managed to complete none of the projects that I have been working on around here. I did manage to install 3 fans and miscellaneous items at Sabrina and Braxtons house, but I am going to let them give a report on how that transpired. This might just give them the proper motivation to post a letter. I ended up leaving the hospital around 6:30 or so one night and then returned the next day around 2:30. During that time I was able to give them a little assistance on the completion of their various projects. I imagine that if I was going to be in town for a while longer, I would be able to stay busy for the entire duration of time spent there re grad less of the duration.
I don't know if you have noticed or not, but our new camera produces some less than desirable shots. I think that I probably need to spend some time in excited reading of the manual to see if I can fix the problem. What it acts like is the shutter stays open for extended periods of time and so most of the pictures are blurry in some fashion. This camera is supposed to be better in quality than our last one, but so far it has giving us some disappointing results. I hope that after an evening spent with the manual will solve this problem.
Ethen and Kyle seem pretty happy with their new sibling. I suspect that after about 2 weeks, their fascination will die out, and then once she starts crawling and stealing their toys, their opinions may change altogether. Of course time will tell, but currently we are having to keep them from poking, prodding, sitting on, boxing, kicking, biting, and all other forms of entertainment that they have come to share with one another.
Well, I am out of information to divulge. I suspect the pictures will tell the majority of the story anyway. If anyone is out there and has a plethora of free time, come on up when the weather is sunny warm and calm because I have some wood that needs some polyurethane. Of course if you find such a day as described that exists here, I will be even more amazed. Lately if it is not snowing, then the wind is blowing 50+ mph. I keep trying to remind myself that it was a good idea to move here, but the weather keeps telling a different story. Well I am out of news. Maybe I will write a letter to AJ.
