We have started a house remodel.  This is something we have debated about for a while, but we have finally decided to begin.

The plan is to add a bedroom and bathroom on to the north side of the house and turn the garage into another living room.

Given the speed I have accomplished the kitchen, Terra has opted to contract this out rather than wait the 6 years for me to complete it as I have time.  Concrete is due on March 26th.

This construction is supposed to take about 4 months to complete.

Today was the Tucson air show at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.  The number of static displays was impressive.  The aerobatics performances were very similar to ones I have seen in the past.

Here is Kyle standing by a Japanese Zero.

Here is Kyle and Jannelle standing by a B-25 Mitchel.  There was also a F-6 Hellcat & B-17G Flying Fortress on static display.

These aircraft were privately owned and operated by the Commemorative Air Force.  All but the B-17G were flown during the days performances.

Here are those three on a pass over the crowd.  The phone camera doesn't have a very impressive zoom, so this is the best it gets.

This is a C-17 Globe master.  It is a cargo plane with an impressive cargo carrying capability.  This one was on static display, but a similar one flew as well during the day.  The C-17 did a high speed pass (~350 mph) and it was surprising how quite it was.  The B-25 did a high speed pass (~250 mph) and it was incredibly loud.

It is always surprising to me to see how the technology has progressed during the years.

This was a KC-135 Stratotanker.  It is a mid-air refueling plane.  Janelle is standing in front of the hub of th landing gear, but clearly written across the center Boeing is advertising itself.

Here is a B-52 Strato Fortress. This one is based out of Louisiana.  We walked up to the window of the pilot seat and peered in.  As we were standing in line an older gentleman was in front  of us.  He was wearing a hat that said retired US Air Force.  It also had a picture of the B-52 on it.  I asked if he flew this plane and he told me that he did not, but was part of the ground crew on the B-52 from 1962-1966.

The air force has been flying this jet since 1952.  The pilots were standing near the plane and were giving us details about it, and they said that all of the avionics have been updated to latest technology with the exception of the engine controls.  They still use steam gauges to control the engines since the engines have not been updated from its original design.

I attended with Kyle and Jannelle this year.  I also met up with AJ & Brittany along with Alan and Maverick.  While at the air show, we saw Jim & Jessica along with Matthew.  We actually ran into them twice.  I was surprised to see them the first time, but really surprised to seem them the second.

With the amount of people present I didn't expect to see anyone I knew.  The line to get in the gate took over an hour.  Kyle really enjoyed the show and requested to go and see the one in Phoenix next time around.
