We had the opportunity to have Symantha come and visit our home. It is always so fun to have her here. Not only is she extremely helpful keeping kiddos on task she is just so loved by my kiddos. They love that she tickles them, encourages them to get their work done, they absolutely love the video games, both watching her play and playing alongside her. They love the variety she has. I personally love having her here. She is a great sounding board and love the way she handles my children. She is such a gift to have in our home. We all love Symantha. I wish I got more pictures! She taught Rachel how straighten her hair, had countless talks with Kyle and Janelle always his hanging her! Even Serra loves Symantha and Landen loved her games! She was and is missed!

Nathen and I have tried our hand at gardening. We were quite successful years ago in Taylor. We have had several successful gardens here in Benson as well. However, as time as marched on are garden seems to always be taken over by weeds. I keep asking Nate if we can build a raised bed garden. I have requested one for years and Nate could not see any reason as to why we should have one. This is our first year we did not plant a garden. But, Nate finally agreed to help make a raised bed. We are still in the process of making it. I look forward to seeing how it works out. I always love that the kiddos help.

Last March Rachel helped take care of goats that were expecting babies. There were 3 pregnant mamas. And they all birthed early while the owners were gone. Rachel was given one of these babies that she helped take care of, Felicity (the darker one). She earned money to buy Serenity (the white one). She helped take care of both goats as babies and now they are ours. She is over the moon!

My mohter's little sister passed away. Her funeral was going to be held on July 16, Landen's birthday. He was devastated that his birthday would occupy other events. So we decided we would begin celebrating early. We invited Carson over. We went to the city pool, to the Cove (a swim park in Sierra Vista) this photo below is after the park getting a few donuts. We had the best time! The following day, Thursday we took the kids to go to Fairbanks, a ghost town near Sierra Vista. For years each Summer and Spring we take the kids there to play in the river. We all loaded up to do so and once we got there we found the river was dry. Another location was suggested to us. The San Pedro House, a 30 minute distance but were assured there was water there. We unloaded the car and made the trek to the river. It was so hot! And once we got there, there was no water! We ate snacks in the shade we found and then headed ack home. You can see the heat in some of their faces even after being back in the AC.''

We had Carson at our home for a few days and had so much fun. Both my parents got COVID and we ended up not going to the funeral as planned. So on Saturday we spent the day with Landen. Breeana and Ethen came. It was so nice to have them here. I really enjoyed that they were able to come. Landen's one request was to go to Get Air, a local jumping park. We all got to go. Nathen, Terra, Ethen, Breeana, Kyle, Rachel, Landen, Carson, Janelle and Serra. We all had a great time jumping at the park. Landen loves to do back flips. He did 5 in a row. Nate and I tried the obstacle course and it about killed us! It is not fun getting old!'

On a side note, Symantha has forever changed how we make toast! It was a serendipitous moment. I accidentally ordered too much french bread from Wal-Mart. She cut it to make toast from and it wouldn't fit the toaster. She improvised with my griddle and now we will never go back! It is delicious!
Here were are assembling Landen's graham cracker cake. 'After making the whipped cream I set down to make Landen's requested cake. Nate jumped in and helped assemble it. It was so fun to see him make the cake. Mylinda came to grab Carson, but he some how convinced her to stay one more night! Landen was so grateful he could be here for his actually b-day. Even though that was not the original plan, Landen was sure greatful he got to be home on his birthday!'

We enjoyed opening presents bright and early, around the breakfast table. A tradition that has been going strong for years! So grateful Ethen, Breeana and Carson could be here!

Here is a picture of us lying down on the trampoline at Get Air. Landen had just landed 5 back flips!

Landen loves to keep these notes that we plaster on the living room wall when it's his birthday. He removed the ones from last year and added the ones from this year. Breeana helped make them! I love that he keeps them.
