This letter is about Rachel. Rachel can be summed up in one word - Friends. She always wants to spend time with her freinds. She usually wants to go to their house to hang out with them. We are too old, or have too many little people, or aren't cool enough for her to stay here.

These are her current two best friends, Morgan Hayne and Emma Anderson.

This is Rachel with Paige and Adalie Lewis. They are siblings and are both close to Rachel's age. Attalie is closer, but Paige is about 1-year younger.

Rachel is willing to have them over, but on a limited basis. Terra has to tell Rachel that she can go over to their house, but every few visits they have to come over to ours. These kids belong to our current bishop. They let us use their house to have a party for Rachel's birthday. Their mother was the young womens leader at the time and Rachel adored her.

During the spring of this year, we attend the Airshow in Tucson at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. The standard dynamic displays were on tap. Like usual one of my favorite fly overs is the old and new planes. This time it was a P-51, with an A-10 & F-35 that flew together.

As shown from the photo, AJ and Brittany went with us. Their kids seemed to do pretty well. KD and Laura were also there, we met up with them and started to walk with them, but KD's kids didn't like the loud noise and they left early.

Our ward did a fund raiser where the youth served dessert to the ward and made desserts. The desserts were auctioned off as a fund raiser for summer camp. Rachel made a Lightning McQueen cake for the event. During the event she was the master of cerimonies (along with Kyle) to run the microphone and talking during all of the dessert auction. Both Kyle & Rachel seemed to really enjoy the event. Kyle would say things like sold to the guy with the cool cars. - That is the Davis', Rachel...This particular photo Rachel is DJ'ing a Tri Warad Lip Sync activity. She loved it!

This year both Rachel & Kyle have formed a tight bond. Here they are on their way out the door on headed to school. Kyle drives Rachel to school each day. Getting her home is a little more complicated depending on the sports season, and her friend visiting schedule.

On Sunday afternoons they both like to make some tpye of dessert (cookies, cinnamon rols, cakes, brownies) and deliver them to members of our ward. People that have impressed them in some sort of way. They really enjoy doing this, but sometimes aren't very nice to the members of their household while they are making and keeping the vultures out of the sweets.

While camping, I ended up getting a flat tire. After I returned home with the spare - and we fixed the tire, Rachel wanted to change it. She got to practice taking on an off the lug nuts, as well as the tire. Then was able to stowe the tire under the car in its holder. She couldn't understand why the nuts were so tight, and wanted to know where we found the gorilla that tightened them.

Anyone who knows Rachel currently, knows that she if a big fan of the Beach Boys. (see the 3rd photo above). Rachel has most of their songs on her play list and she listens to them a lot. They are not her favorite band, but they are probably second or third on her band list.

In May this year, Al Jardeen and the Endless Summer Band came to Tucson. Al Jardeen is one of the founding members of the Beach Boys. Most of the band are no longer living. This band consited of Al Jardeen, his son, and a few friends. They were touring the courntry playing the Beach Boys music. Terra and I took Rachel & Janelle to the concert. Rachel really enjoyed it. She knew all of the songs they performed. Janelle, however was less than impressed. She didn't enjoy it at all even though she begged to go. But Rachel was in heaven.

This last photo is of Rachel & Lauren. They both attended Girls camp with the Tucson North Stake on Mt. Lemmon. Rachel really enjoyed it and came home wondering why our stake doesn't do this type of girls camp. Actually Terra and I wonder the same thing.
