Baking Powder Biscuits       (Norma LeFevre 1966)

Sift together :

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Cut in finely
  • ¼ cups shortening
Stir in ¾ cups milk (to make a soft dough). Place the soft dough on a floured board. Kneed a time or two, then pat or roll it out to 0.5 inches thick. Cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in a hot oven (4507#176; F) 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 20 biscuits 1¾ inches in diameter.
